Thunderbirds

All Reset
All reset is used when first setting the watch or when there is unusual or erratic operation.

1 -Turn the crown to set the mode hand to the chronograph [CHR] mode.

2 -Pull out the crown to the second click (3). This is the Zero position correction mode.

3 - Press buttons (A) and (B) simultaneously and then release.

4 - All segments of the display will be shown when the buttons are released.

5 - The fully lit display is blanked when the crown is pushed to the normal position (1).

6 - A confirmation sound will be heard after which each hand will perform a 'demonstration' going in the order of: second hand, minute hand, UTC minute hand, UTC hour hand, and 24 hour hand to indicate that the All Reset procedure is finished.

Note: After performing an 'All Reset' make sure that you perform a 'Zero Position Adjustment' as shown below.

Zero Position Adjustment
After all reset the hands must be 'Zeroed' to provide a starting point for setting the watch.

Turn the crown to set the mode hand to the chronograph [CHR] mode.
Pull the crown out to the second click (3)

The second hand, minute hand, hour hand, 24 hour hand, UTC hour and minute hand will all rapidly advance to their last remembered 'Zero' position (12:00). Digital display 2 will display 'HR' indicating that the watch is in 'Hand Reset' mode.

If the hands do not point to the 'Zero' position (12:00) correct them in the steps below.

Note: When setting the 'Zero' position of the hands, make sure that you turn the crown in the Clockwise direction

1 - With the crown out to the second click (3) turn the crown to the right (clockwise) to move the minute hand around the dial until it is 'Zeroed' at the 12:00 position. To make the hands move faster in the desired direction, click the crown continuously in the desired direction.

2 - Press button (A) to switch between setting the Minute, Second, and Hour hands.

3 - The 24 Hour hand is corrected in conjunction with the Hour hand.

4 - The UTC hour and minute hand are corrected in conjunction with the Minute hand.

5 - The second hand can only be corrected in the clockwise direction.

6 - After correcting all hands to the 'Zero' position, push the crown back in to the normal position (1) and reset the time and date as shown below.

Setting the Time
The time on this watch is set by changing the digital display time then transferring the digital time to the hands.

1 - Turn the crown until the mode hand points to the time mode [TME].

2 - Press either button (A) or (B) to select the city for which the time is to be set.

3 - Pull the crown out to the second click (3) to enter time setting mode.

4 - Pressing button (A) will change the digits to be set. These digits are the ones that are blinking. Press button (A) to select the digits that you want to change.
When button (B) is pressed in the [SMT] daylight savings time correction mode, DST can be turned ON or OFF.
When button (B) is pressed with the seconds digits blinking, the seconds will return to '00'.

5 - Turn the crown clockwise to advance the hours or minutes when those digits are blinking.
Although the crown may be turned in either direction, you should always turn it clockwise to the final setting.

6 - When the 12H/24H selection is blinking, pressing button (B) will turn it On/Off.

7 - After correcting the time on the digital displays, push the crown in to normal position (1) to complete time setting.

To synchronize the watch hands with the digital display press both buttons (A) and (B) at the same time with the crown in normal position (1) and the mode hand pointing to 'time ' [TME].

Setting the Calendar
The calendar in this watch is set in the digital display. To set the calendar follow the steps below.

1 - With the crown in normal position (1) turn the crown until the mode hand points to calendar [CAL].

2 - Press button (A) or (B) to select the city to be changed.

3 - Pull the crown out to the second position (3) to enter calendar setting mode.

4 - Press button (A) to change the blinking digits from month to day to year.

5 - Turn the crown in either direction as needed to change the value of the blinking digits.

6 - When done push the crown in to the normal position (1).

Note: The year can be set from 2000 to 2099. The day is automatically set based upon the month, date and year. When the date is set for any one city all other cities, including UTC are corrected automatically.

Using Alarm Mode
The alarm setting procedures for this watch are the same for all 3 alarms (AL-1, AL-2, and AL-3). Only the tone that sounds is different.

The alarm sounds for 15 seconds when the set time is reached once a day. Press button (A) or (B) to turn it off

To turn the alarm On or Off pull the crown out to the first click (2) and press button (B).

Setting Alarm Time.
1 - With the crown in normal position (1) turn the crown until the mode hand points to the desired alarm [AL-1], [AL-2], or [AL-3].

2 - Press button (A) or (B) to select the city to be changed.

3 - Pull the crown out to the second position (3) to enter alarm setting mode.

4 - Pressing button (A) will change the digits to be set. These digits are the ones that are blinking. Press button (A) to select the digits that you want to change.
The alarm can be turned On or Off by pressing button (B). The display will show ON or OF depending on selection.
Turn the crown forward (clockwise) to advance the flashing digits. When the crown is turned backward (counter-clockwise) the flashing digits will decrement.

5 - After the alarm is set return the crown to normal position (1).

NOTE: The alarm will display the time in the same manner as set in Time mode (12 or 24 hour display).
NOTE: Pressing buttons (A) and (B)while in any alarm mode will cause the alarm for that mode to sound as long as the buttons are held down.

Using the Chronograph
The chronograph can measure and display time up to a maximum of 23 hours, 59 minutes, and 59.99 seconds in 1/100 second units. After this time the chronograph resets to '0' and stops.

Time measurement.
1 - Turn the crown to to set the mode hand to chronograph [CHR] mode.

2 - Pressing button (A) will start or stop the chronograph.

3 - Split time is displayed for 10 seconds when button (B) is pressed while the chronograph is running.
The 'SPL' mark flashes during split time display.

4 - Pressing button (B) while the chronograph is stopped resets the display to '0'.

Using the Timer
The timer can be set to a maximum of 99 minutes in 1 minute increments. When the set time has elapsed, a tone will sound for about 5 seconds after which the display returns to the original timer setting.

Setting the timer.
1 - Turn the crown to to set the mode hand to timer [TMR] mode.

2 - Pull the crown out to the second click (3) to enter the 'minutes' correction state.

3 - Turn the crown forward (clockwise) to advance the setting or reverse (counter-clockwise) to decrease the setting.

4 - After setting return the crown to the normal position (1).

Using the timer
1 - Turn the crown to to set the mode hand to timer [TMR] mode.

2 - Press button (A) to start the timer.

3 - Pressing button (A) while the timer is running will stop the timer.

4 - Pressing button (B) while the timer is running will return the timer to the original setting and resume the count.

5 - Pressing button (B) while the timer is stopped returns the watch to the original setting.

Special functions of this watch
Zone Setting

This watch allows you to display the time and date for up to 31 cities. Zone Setting allows you to change which cities are displayed. To change the Zone Settings follow the steps below.

1 - With the crown in normal position (1) turn the crown so that the mode hand points to Zone Setting mode [SET].

2 - The city can be changed by pulling the crown out to the first click (2) for changing cities between SET and OFF, and for setting the city to daylight savings time.

3 - Turn the crown to select the city to be changed.

4 - Press button (A) to change the city from SET to OFF as required. Press button (B) to turn OFF or ON daylight savings time for that city.

5 - After setting return the crown to normal position (1).

Adding a custom city and time difference.

This watch allows for adding a custom city abbreviation and time difference if your city is not one of the 30 major cities programmed into the default settings of the watch. To add a custom city follow the steps below.

1 - With the crown in normal position (1) turn the mode hand to the Zone Setting position [SET].

2 - Pull the crown out to the second click (3). The watch will now enter the mode which allows you to change the 1st letter of the city abbreviation.

3 - Turn the crown until the letter is displayed, then press button (A) to move to the next letter.

4 - When you have selected the last letter of the city abbreviation the digits in the time correction display will blink.

5 - Turn the crown until the offset of your city from UTC (Greenwich Time) is displayed. (See the Timezone chart below for examples).

6 - Push the crown in to normal position (1) to complete the custom city.
