In the manual of your remote there should be Matsui-codes. In my manual it has lots of them, try 00208 (for older remotes just 208), 00443, 00235, 00009, 00371. If they don't work, try to download the manual for your remote, it should give many more Matsui-codes.

you made a mistake by buying a matsui lol
but in regards to help if it is an analogue only set which from the remote i think it is then you will need to purchase a freeview box as analogue no longer broadcasts in the uk

Haha yeh I know matsui are shit, its an old tv that I've dug out because I want to use it in my workshop and I dont have to worry about getting crap all over it.
I'm not trying to tune in analogue TV signals just want to tune in Sky's RF output.

Are you sure there are no hidden buttons behind a flap on the TV?

You might try posting this for the experts in the TV tech section. I think though it will be in the menu section.

No flap, just 3 buttons - Program (volume, picture adjustments) up and down (to be used with on screen settings or to change channel)

What shows when you press the menu button?

Yes it does. Cumbria is still analogue, being changed this month.

What shows when you press the menu button?

When you press the menu button you get this
Press it again you get this
Press it again and it goes away.
I did find this during my search but its not for the exact model I want. The remote looks very similar but its not the same. It says you have to press the 2 top left buttons to get the tuning menu but they are not labeled the same on the 2 remotes.
I know the 'INST' button on the remote isn't working because I can't see any IR signal from it when I press it. Taken it apart, cleaned it up, done everything the internet suggests to get remote buttons functioning again but had no luck.
So before I start exposing the copper contacts I just want confirmation on which 2 buttons I need to be pressing together.

What happens when you press the inst button? You edited your post. I suspect the inst button is the installation, for tuning.

There's nothing after it, you cant scroll down. What you see is what you get. There also isn't another set of options after it, pressing menu again just makes it go away. Menu mix is an option for toggling the blue menu background on and off, such an important feature
Edit: and you edited yours! haha.
No idea, cant remember. I suspect it not working is the problem but was hoping someone could just confirm so I know which buttons to focus on.

May as well attack it with sandpaper and a soldering iron then
  • #16
The other way to attack this is to keep changing the Sky RF channel until it hits one that the TV is already tuned to?
  • #17
You press the button that looks like a tv screen with three dashes and letter i in it, the tv will start tuning and stop at a signal, if that's the one you want then select which channel number to store it on* if not then press the button again etc until the one you want comes up.
    * if it is then use the arrow up and down keys (p+ or p-) for the channel number which will appear in the top right hand corner of the screen, to store it you then press (shit I can't remember) the one with the rectangular box with an arrow up above it and arrow down below it, if that doesn't store then perhaps it's the 'inst' one at the top, if not that then press others till you manage to store it.

Trying to tune in an old tv (Matsui 1410T) but cant remember how.
The tuning option isn't in the main menu and I think you have to hold down 2 buttons but I cant remember which.
It can only be done with the remote, the actual TV only has a few buttons.
Is this ringing a bell with anyone?
    Remote picture
I've searched extensively for an owners manual with no luck, found the service manual but that doesn't help.

    try this OP

The '3 dash i' button doesnt seem to do anything on my remote. Did you have the same tv?

No I used to sell them ages ago so are you sure you have the right remote because there was a 1410R and 1410T? (T for teletext)
Also your search for a manual, have a look for an Orion 14' because they are one of the same.
